For many it would be a dream come true if every road in the UK had a car free cycle track next to it, for others they would like to share the main road.  A main road is nearly always the quickest and easiest cycle route,  but it is also the most unpleasant. So for a pleasant ride over long distances, cycling on back / minor roads makes for a slower but more pleasant journey.

In cities, there are mixed levels of infrastructure to support cycling. The UKs government’s current guidance on cycle infrastructure  is dated, and generally shows cycle infrastructure as poorly conceived after thoughts, with limited interconnectivity.

Which do you prefer? Do you have any ideas?
